Today marks the 4 year anniversary since the UK dragged a journalist from his political asylum and jailed him on false charges on behalf of a lawless state that planned to kidnap and kill him.
Why did they do that?
Julian Assange told us why. He screamed it as Sir Keir Starmer’s Metropolitan Police dragged him kicking and screaming from the Ecuadorian Embassy in London 4 years ago today.
“The UK has no sovereignty! The UK must resist!”
Here is a link to my Live Stream at the time of his kidnap. I apologize to you beforehand, but I remember swearing A LOT during this live:
https://www.youtube.com/live/_TJeeb9Xeog?feature=share&t=275
I had been at the Embassy the entire previous weekend, as the world was tipped off by Wikileaks that Assange was about to be apprehended.
I’d gotten on the first train the next morning and spent 3 days staking out the Embassy with Assange supporters for company with a bunch of presstitutes from the legacy media had set up on the opposite side of the street.
Here’s one of my reports from that weekend:
As we walked past the legacy press we could hear what they were saying to each other. They were complaining the whole time. About Assange, mostly. Complaining that there was no way he was going to be arrested and it was all a red herring. Complaining about their jobs. About their lives. About the cold.
Every other journalistic outlet on the planet was at threat if Julian Assange was to be arrested and extradited, but none of them cared. I doubt they realise it even today, such is their devotion to the power that pays them.
I remember giving one speech outside Westminster Magistrates Court that laid the blame for Julian’s tortue squarely at the media’s door through a bullhorn, right to their stinking faces, but it made no difference.
Their response was to laugh at me.
Their entire profession was at stake, and perhaps democracy itself, and they laughed at me.
Anyway, I stayed in London as long as I could the weekend before Julian was kidnapped, but had to get back to the Midlands. I lived on my own with my dog and could only get somebody to look after her for the weekend.
By the time Assange was arrested a few days later, the rest of the UK media, though, with all of their funding and all of their resources, had all gone home.
The only publicly seen video we have of Julian’s arrest that day is by Ruptly, an affiliate of Russia Today, which is now banned in this country.
Imagine the lies we would have been told if they hadn’t got that footage and released it to the public. They may have extradited him to the US before anybody knew what was happening.
RT wasn’t banned from the UK for any lies it told. RT was banned because of the truth it told about our elite, that they would rather be kept secret.
Julian has been in Belmarsh Prison ever since. 4 years. Most of which has been spent in solitary confinement. In the same place the UK keeps its murderers, rapists and terrorists.
The BBC have previously called HMP Belmarsh, “The UK’s Guantanamo Bay.”
I wrote to him a week or so after he was imprisoned, and to my complete surprise he wrote back.
I went public with the letter after the US added 17 charges to the secret indictment which was unsealed the moment Julian was in custody. A secret indictment Julian said was the reason he sought asylum in the Ecuadorian Embassy in the first place, proving him right all along.
The “Swedish” prosecutors dropped their preliminary investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct completely soon after. Again, proving Julian was right all along.
There were never any charges in Sweden against Assange. Ever. Only a “preliminary investigation” Ecuadorian diplomat Fidel Narvaez said was “opened and closed more times than a fridge door” in the 7 years previous.
I cannot imagine the toll this has taken on Julian Assange’s mental health.
Physically, he is extremely unwell. He has suffered a mini-stroke around the time of one of his hearings.
Julian Assange, a journalist and publisher, has been tortured in the centre of London for a decade, because he told us the truth.
This isn’t Russia, or China, or North Korea. It’s the UK.
Nils Melzer, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture and his medical team visited him in Belmarsh prison and reported that he showed “all the symptoms typical for prolonged exposure to psychological torture” and demanded immediate measures for the protection of his health and dignity.
That was 3 and a half years ago.
The UK have refused to open an enquiry into the Rapporteur’s findings, even though they are mandated to by international law after such findings by a spacialist on torture and inhumane treatment.
Why?
Why are they doing this?
Today, I wrote another letter to my MP, Jane Stevenson, about Julian Assange’s treatment. We shall see if she responds to it. She has stopped responding to all my emails for a few months now which is weird. She’d responded to every email until I asked her what she thought of Al Jazerra’s “Labour Files” documentary, but she’s gone dark to me ever since. Curious.
Since she’s stopped responding, though, I’ve decided to go public with my email to her. Feel free to copy/paste it and send it to your representative today, too.
Jane,
Today marks the 4 year anniversary since your government dragged a journalist from his political asylum and jailed him on false charges on behalf of a lawless state that planned to kidnap and kill him. A lawless mafia state that gave immunity to a convicted pedophile and fraudster in exchange for false testimony about that journalist.
Your government did that.
Your government is still psychologically torturing that journalist.
It's been 4 years.
My questions for you today, Jane, is why did your government do all that? Why is a journalist in jail in the UK for no crime? Why are you continuing to torture a man for telling the truth?
I know why. So do you.
You politicians and judges want him dead, don't you? You want your secrets kept secret, dont you? And the FBI will release them if we don't silence him, won't they?
The UK has no sovereignty.
The UK must resist.Do the right thing, Jane.
Stand up in Parliament and demand the UK FREE JULIAN ASSANGE NOW!
Or would you rather a journalist die in a UK prison for the heinous crime of telling the truth?
Sincerely,
Gordon Dimmack
The UK has no sovereignty. The UK must resist.
I’m from the UK. I’m resisting.
Are you?
Email your representative today, and demand they FREE JULIAN ASSANGE!
